SIR - It has been said that the decision by Magdalen College Oxford's students to get rid of a portrait of the Queen (initiated by a young American) is yet another example of the mad world we now live in.
The best solution in this case would be to reintroduce some old fashioned discipline. These young students need to get back to basics. Respect their elders and stop moaning about them. Feel lucky they live in a developed country. Shut up, get their heads down and get on with studying the real world!
