CITY target Yann Songo’o has announced he is ready for the “next chapter” after leaving Morecambe.

The midfield hard man is tipped to follow Derek Adams to Valley Parade – which would mean he has played for the manager at four different clubs.

Songo’o initially teamed up with Adams at Ross County before he took the Frenchman to Plymouth.

And, after a spell with Scunthorpe, the 29-year-old was reunited with Adams last season in Morecambe’s history-making promotion side.

Songo’o is now expected to be among the raft of signings planned as the new boss rebuilds his City squad.

Songo’o took to Twitter to reveal that he would not be staying with Morecambe in League One.

He said: “Shrimps fans, what can I say. It’s only been one year but what a year.

“We’ve achieved something nobody expected.

“To the staff and my team-mates, thank you so much for everything you have done for me and for allowing us to create great memories.

“To the fans, it was amazing to share these memories with you all.

“It’s been a hard year for you, so having you with us at Wembley for the final game will stay with me forever.

“Now onto the next chapter. Wishing you all the luck for next season.”

Songo'o only joined the Shrimps in September but made 45 appearances with six goals.
