THESE are the ten teenagers who have appeared in court in May charged with a range of offences including burglary, knife possession and assault.

The children – who all cannot be named for legal reasons due to their ages – were all called before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court to answer for their alleged crimes between May 17 and 26.

The first three children were in court on May 26.

One boy, aged 17, appeared in court was charged with one count of burglary, where it is alleged he broke into a house in Hollin Lane, Shipley and stole cash on December 19, 2019, when he was 15 years old.

He is also charged with two counts of going equipped in Festival Lane, Shipley, on the same date, when it’s alleged he was carrying a glass hammer and two pairs of gloves.

The boy was given unconditional bail is next due to appear at Bradford Crown Court later this month.

Also appearing was a second 17-year-old, charged with burglary at a house in Enfield Walk, Wibsey, on September 10 last year when cash and other items were taken.

He was also charged with attempted burglary with intent to steal on the same date in Carr Bottom Road, Little Horton. The boy was due to appear at Bradford Crown Court on June 2 to be sentenced.

Also in court was a boy, 15, charged with handling stolen goods between May 12 and 13, namely a stolen Audi A4 worth £6,000.

The boy denies the charge and has been bailed until his next hearing in July, with a 7pm-7am curfew.

In court on May 24 was a 17-year-old boy who admitted two counts of robbery, stealing mobile phones from people on May 9 and 17. The boy has been remanded in youth detention accommodation ahead of his next hearing later this month.

Also appearing on that date was a boy aged 14 charged with failing to provide information relating to the identity of a driver of a Vauxhall Meriva on October 14 last year. He is next due in court at the end of this month.

Also due in court on two charges on the same day was another 14-year-old boy, charged with criminal damage on April 17 when it’s alleged he destroyed police issue handcuffs belonging to West Yorkshire Police, and taking a vehicle – a silver Yamaha 125 scooter – without the owner’s consent on March 26. He is next in court on the charges later this month.

In court on May 18 was a 16-year-old boy charged with a number of offences all on October 15 last year. He is charged with criminal damage destroying plant pots and lights, assaulting a woman, and threatening to damage two women’s cars.

He is next due in court later this month and has been bailed and ordered not to contact the woman he allegedly assaulted or enter a certain street in Bradford.

There were three youths in court on May 17.

The first, a boy aged 15, is charged with affray in Ladbroke Grove, Holme Wood, on November 15, 2020, and possession of a knife in the same place on the same day.

He has denied both charges and is due back in court next month for trial.

A boy aged 17 appeared charged with riding a scooter without a licence or insurance on January 16. He admitted both offences and was fined £50, which his parents will have to pay, and handed six penalty points.

The final teen in court was a girl aged 17, charged with riding in a stolen vehicle – a Kia Pro C’eed – on November 16, 2020. The case was adjourned until later this month.
