BRADFORD Council has issued an update following a warehouse fire in Manningham.

Fire crews were called to Adams Fast Food Supplies, on Thorncliffe Road, at 12.30am.

All the latest news on the fire

They are now damping down, but are expected to remain at the scene into this evening and tomorrow.

A Bradford Council spokesperson said: “Our Building Control officers have been to inspect the building today and have informed the owners of the action needed to make the building safe. It is down to the building owners to engage a suitable contractor to do this work.

"Due to the access needed by the fire service to tackle this fire three schools had to close today to keep the pupils safe.

"One In a Million and Midland Road Nursery schools will be able to reopen tomorrow, but due to access to the site, Al Mumin school will need to remain closed tomorrow to allow the owner appointed contractors to work safely.

“Thorncliffe Road, Burlington Street, Cliffe Terrace and Clifton Street have been closed to allow access to the fire service and could remain closed for the rest of the day.

"It is likely that Clifton Street will also need to be closed tomorrow to allow access to the contractors working on the building.

“We’d like to thank the local schools, residents and businesses in the area for their patience and understanding during this time.”
