A MAN is in hospital after being seriously injured in an assault last night.
Police have now issued an appeal for information after the incident.
A spokesperson said: "The victim, a 50-year-old man, was assaulted following an altercation with two men outside the Swinnow Shopping Centre, in Swinnow Road, shortly before 10.30pm yesterday.
"He received serious head and facial injuries and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
"A scene is in place at the shopping centre and enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident or the circumstances leading up to it is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13210281829 or online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat
"Information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
