A WOMAN was left distressed following verbal abuse and an act of criminal damage by a man in Halifax.

On Tuesday, June 1 between 5:30pm and 5:45pm on Aachen Way, near to Kings Cross Road, the man attempted to overtake the woman in his car.

He became irate when he was unable to, due to heavy traffic.

Both vehicles were stationary in traffic and the man got out of his car and approached the woman’s car, shouting and being verbally abusive.

He went on to kick the rear passenger door of the woman’s car causing minor damage and then returned to his car and made off from the scene.

The woman was left uninjured but distressed by the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Police in Halifax are appealing for witnesses following the incident of criminal damage.
