POLICE are on the trail of a gang of "wannabe celeb thieves" after they live-streamed themselves stealing a car on social media.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared the story on Twitter.
A hashtag on the post described the situation as "live-stream stupidity".
A group of people had used the live-streaming tool on a social media website last night to film themselves stealing a car.
Police indicated that they are well on with finding the suspects, having identified who they are from the video.
The post said: "On this fine balmy evening, why not live-stream you and your mates stealing a car on social media?
"On the bright side, we know who these wannabe celeb thieves are."
