POLICE made a number of arrests in Bradford to tackle organised crime and drug offences, including the seizure of 600 plants valued at over £500,000 at a large-scale cannabis farm.

Over the past few days, NPT officers supported by Programme Precision, CID and District Crime Team conducted a number of warrants, largely in the Manningham area of Bradford.

A large-scale cannabis farm was found at one location – approximately 600 plants were seized with a street value of £565,000. Two males were arrested for production of cannabis.

Today further warrants were executed and another male arrested for possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Further arrests were made for a male who was wanted on warrant.

Officers also disrupted drug dealing offences on Thornton Road after a car was stopped. A quantity of Class A drugs was found in the car and seized.

Three males were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with the intent to supply.

Inspector Dave Collyer of Bradford West NPT, said: “The days of action this week have been really successful and it has provided some reassurance to the local community that we are being proactive to tackle issues in the area and make them feel safer.

“As a result of the operation, we have removed significant amounts of drugs off the streets and also arrested a number of people.

“We will continue to listen to our communities and do all we can to tackle drug use and offences in Bradford.
