A TEENAGER accused of murdering Mujahid Hussain in Duckworth Lane, Bradford, has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Hashim Sajjad, 19, of Wheatlands Crescent, Daisy Hill, Bradford, made his first appearance at Bradford Crown Court last month.

But at a second hearing earlier today, he formally denied the murder charge.

A trial date had already been fixed for December 6, which is expected to last up to two weeks.

It is alleged that he murdered 19-year-old Muhammed Mujahid Hussain on April 22 following disorder in Duckworth Lane.

The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Richard Mansell QC, said a hearing would take place on August 18 with the defendant to appear on video link from HMP Doncaster, the young offender institution, where he is currently being held.
