DO you think you could conquer an eating challenge featuring a two-foot long sweet treat and more than 5,000 calories?

If so, a local pub has a challenge for you with it's giant chocolate eclair that has never been defeated.

Heathfield Farm pub, in Birkenshaw, has created the two-foot long eclair which is packed with cream and custard and contains the same number of calories that an adult man should be eating in two days.

The 2.3kg creation costs £20 and has an undefeated record at the carvery since it was introduced two years ago.

Manager Jamie Wilson, 27, said 15 people have attempted to finish the giant eclair and none and have succeeded.

The weight pastry is filled with cream and custard and topped with chocolate ganache and white chocolate shavings, and takes eight bakers and pastry chefs to prepare it.

Ms Wilson is so confident no one can finish the dish there is no time limit on the challenge, but if you do pull off the seemingly impossible and polish the pastry off you will be rewarded with a pudding and t-shirt to honour your success.

Ms Wilson said: “It’s definitely the biggest eclair you can get in the country.

“It’s massive, it’ll take a seriously special person to finish it - I don’t believe anyone can do it.

“It’s full of cream, chocolate, and custard. It’s delicious and just beautiful. But I could never attempt it, no chance.”

The eclairs are the carvery’s biggest seller on their dessert menu according to Ms Wilson.

She said families will usually order the giant version to share on birthdays when they want to have a unique treat instead of a cake.

The eatery said the eclair must be pre-ordered and is only available for eating in.
