BRADFORD residents could save £144.82 in electricity bills each year by installing solar panels – but this is still one of the UK’s lowest savings.
The research from comparethemarket.com analysed factors including sunshine hours, average electricity consumption and the price of electricity to see how much money different towns and cities could save with solar panels.
Bradford has the third lowest annual savings by installing solar panels with £144.82, Manchester is second with £141.73 and Glasgow is the place in the UK where residents can save the least amount with £137.71.
Meanwhile, the South coast offers the most opportunity to make some significant savings with solar panels. Brighton and Hove has the biggest potential savings by up to £195.27 a year, closely followed by Plymouth and Bournemouth saving £190.08 and £189.18 respectively.
While still making a considerable saving, northern cities are amongst the areas with the lowest potential savings because of their lower number of sunny days.
