A VAN driver cut across traffic and stopped in the hard shoulder of a motorway to ask police for directions, an officer has revealed.
PC Martin Willis, known on social media as ‘Motorway Martin’, says he was waiting on the hard shoulder on the M62 just outside of Bradford behind a vehicle police were going to recover.
He says a white van cut across traffic and on to the hard shoulder between the police officer’s car and the vehicle they were recovering.
PC Willis says he expected the white van driver to report an emergency to him, but instead they wanted directions.
So I'm on the hard shoulder waiting behind a vehicle we are going to recover. Suddenly a white van nearly stops in lane 2 of the slip and cuts across traffic onto the hard shoulder between us. I expected the driver to report an emergency to me.. but he just wanted directions!😳🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/K9In40C1zO
