POLICE discovered a cannabis farm after "suspicious activity" in Undercliffe.

West Yorkshire Police received reports of suspicious activity involving vehicles and men outside buildings in Dudley Hill Road, last night.

The incident, at 11.30pm, took place in the vicinity of Wellington Fisheries, but the fish and chip shop was in no way involved in the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "It was suggested that a burglary had occurred nearby and officers attended to establish what had happened."

The officers' investigation led them to a property in Dudley Hill Road.

They discovered a cannabis farm inside a property near the fish and chip shop.

The farm was dismantled and the plants were seized today.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A passer-by, who wished to remain anonymous, described the smell as "horrendous" and claimed it is the "second time in months" that the property has been raided.
