A BRADFORD church has applied to install CCTV cameras on the building in a bid to deter crime and anti-social behaviour.
St Oswald's Church on Christopher Street dates back to the 1890s, and is Grade II listed.
An application has been submitted to Bradford Council to allow four security cameras to be placed on the building in an effort to stop crime and vandalism of the historic building.
The Listed Building Consent application says that the church has been subject to crime and anti-social behaviour in recent years "including graffiti and damage to stonework."
‘Disgusting idiots’ urinate on church as concern grows over yobs
It says the CCTV cameras will act as "a deterrent from future crime or further damage to the building" and would not harm the church's historic character.
In 2017 the Telegraph & Argus reported that the church had been subject to vandalism and anti social behaviour.
People were reported to have urinated on the church door, pulled up plants and flowers, left broken vodka bottles strewn around the site and, in one instance, left a dead cat outside the church entrance.
A decision on the application is expected next month.
