A BRADFORD school has been forced to close its doors today due to the huge fire that broke out nearby.

Firefighters from across West Yorkshire have been at the scene of a major building blaze on Legrams Lane since 2.45am.

The fire is in a furniture factory adjoining a larger mill complex.

People living in the Shearbridge area are being advised to keep doors and windows closed due to large plumes of smoke in the area.

Staff at Co-op Academy Princeville have been unable to access the school site, therefore forcing the closure.

Although the fire is no longer being treated as a major incident and is now under control, 12 fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms remain at the scene.

Roads surrounding the building are closed.

Learning at Princeville will now be online, and the school will have lunch bags available for collection for children who normally get free meals.
