STUDENTS and staff members at schools in Kirklees are being advised to continue wearing face coverings from Monday despite Government guidance easing restrictions.

Parents at a school in Kirklees were today informed that the Government has advised that although face coverings may not be required in classrooms and on corridors from Monday, they said in places with localised higher infection rates, local authorities would give advice to schools.

And Kirklees Council recommended that staff and students in school should continue to wear face masks until a further review.

The news comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced last week that several restrictions would be eased on Monday on Step 3 of the country’s roadmap out of lockdown.
