A LOCAL Councillor has condemned the street violence which occurred in Bradford yesterday, calling the incident “shocking, particularly on Eid”.
Seven men aged 28 to 84 have been arrested in connection to the violent disorder in Hastings Street, Little Horton, which left two men stabbed and three others with head injuries.
Police are continuing to carry out an investigation into the street brawl, which they have said was an “isolated incident”.

They were called to Hastings Street at 3.20pm to reports of a group of men fighting in the street, and a huge police cordon was in place and is expected to remain for some time today.
Councillor Talat Sajawal (Independent, Little Horton) had serious concerns about an incident of this kind happening in broad daylight in a residential street, particularly on Eid.
He said: “I totally condemn any violence within our area, it’s very shocking violence like this would take place in a highly populated area of the city.
“You don’t expect this kind of thing to happen and I hope the police investigation is carried out thoroughly.
“For something like this to happen on Eid day, the day when families are celebrating the end of Ramadan and having festivities, for something like this to happen it is very shocking for the whole community.
“This kind of violence is unacceptable.”
