SEVEN men have been arrested following an afternoon of violence in a residential street in Bradford which left five people injured.

The men, aged 28, 29, 30, 33, 48, 52 and 84-years-old, have been arrested and all remain in custody at this time.

Officers attended Hastings Street in Little Horton at 3.20pm yesterday following reports of an ongoing fight between groups of men.

Locals described "carnage" at the scene with men covered in blood, and a huge police cordon was in place yesterday.

Officers found two men who had been stabbed and three with head injuries in the street, who were all taken to hospital for further treatment, although none are believed to be life threatening.

Chief Inspector Andy Farrell of Bradford District said: “Our investigation is at an early stage and we are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident.

“A cordon will remain in place for some time today.

“We are confident this is an isolated incident and are pursuing a number of active lines of enquiry to identify those responsible.

"Thankfully no serious injuries were sustained but this clearly highlights the dangers of carrying weapons of any kind."
