ALASTAIR Campbell had to correct himself after accidentally saying the Queen had died live on television.
The Keighley-born former director of communications for ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair made the error while he was co-presenting today’s Good Morning Britain.
Mr Campbell was interviewing former Leeds United and Wimbledon player Vinnie Jones when he made the error. Her Majesty is very much still alive.
During the interview, Mr Campbell said: “We talked a lot about Prince Philip after the death of the Queen.”
A short while later, and realising his mistake, Mr Campbell corrected himself, adding: “Can I just say something, I think I may have accidentally announced the death of the Queen. I meant Prince Philip of course.”
