SIR - I travelled to Bradford Forster Square railway station yesterday and was appalled by the state of the slope leading from the station to the Midland Hotel. The rubbish bins were overflowing and litter was scattered everywhere.

I am aware of the people in tents under the arches, they were not the issue, they had no where to put their litter either. It gives a dreadful first impression of the city to anyone. What excuse does the council have for not emptying the bins?
