I WAS sad to hear of the death of Nick Kamen, who made female hearts flutter in the unforgettable 1985 Levi’s advert, where he stripped off and waited for his washing wearing only his boxer shorts.
At that time, my flatmates and I were regulars at our local launderette in London.
We always went hoping that a Nick Kamen lookalike would wander in. Sadly, all we got were chain smoking old blokes sitting miserably beside the dryers - fully dressed, thank goodness.
