RESIDENTS can have their say on plans to replace a hand car wash with a new local convenience store.

The proposals, for a site on Bingley Road, Shipley, include 15 car parking spaces and landscaping.

Comments on the plans - number 21/01718/FUL - can be made online at bradford.gov.uk until Friday May 28.

Bradford Council has also provided details of forthcoming road closures, a selection of which are as follows:

Work on the telecommunications network on or near Fairbank Road, Bradford will result in the closure to traffic of Fairbank Road from its junction with Toller Lane to its junction with Tollgate Court from 9.30am today, until 3.30pm today. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the proposed traffic order will be available via Fairbank Road (the unaffected section), Whetley Lane, Toller Lane and vice versa.

Water works on or near Gaisby Lane, Shipley, will result in the temporary closure to vehicles of a length of Gaisby Lane from number 32 to number 44, from 7pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday May 19. Pedestrian access will not be affected by the works.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the proposed closure will be available via Gaisby Lane (the unaffected section), Carr Lane, Crag Road, Owlet Road, Festival Avenue and vice versa.

Water works on or near Avondale Road, Shipley, will also mean the temporary closure to traffic of a stretch of that road from its junction with Bradford road to a point outside number 2 Avondale Road. This also runs from 7pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday May 19.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the proposed Order will be available via Avondale Road (the unaffected section), Moorhead Lane, Bingley Road, Bradford Road and vice versa.

On May 20 Ferncliffe Road in Bingley will be closed from its junction with Sir Fred Hoyle Way to its junction with Leonard Street, from 7pm to 9.30pm, due to water works. Pedestrian access along the route will not be affected.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the works will be available via Ferncliffe Road (the unaffected section), Bradford Road, Leonard Street and vice versa.

Water works will also mean that traffic is temporarily prohibited from running the length of Old Guy Road from its junction with Heather Place to a point outside 51 Old Guy Road in Queensbury, from 7pm to 9.30pm on Thursday May 20.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the traffic order will be available via Old Guy Road (the unaffected section), Mill Lane, Brlghouse and Denholme Road, Roper Lane, Cross Lane, Moor Close Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrians can still use the route at all times.

Gas works on or near Banks Lane, Riddlesden has resulted in the temporary closure to vehicles of Banks Lane, Riddlesden from its junction with Malvern Crescent to its junction with Western Avenue. The temporary closure is in place until 6pm on Friday May 28. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times along the route.

Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the Order will be available via Banks Lane (the unaffected section), Silsden Road, llkley Road and vice versa.
