DAVID Staveley has been elected onto North Yorkshire County Council to the Ribblesdale seat, picking up more than three times the number of votes of his nearest rival.
Conservative, Cllr Staveley, received 1,537 votes, Luke Allan for the Liberal Democrats picked up 430 votes, and Brian McDaid (Labour) 475.David Noland (Green) received 395.
Turnout was 44.1 per cent.
