A BRADFORD driver has been fined more than £400 and disqualified for doing 61mph on a motorway.
Qaasim Hussain, 27, of Fagley, was caught by a speed camera on the M6, near Birmingham, between junctions seven and eight, on November 17 last year.
This is a smart motorway and the speed limit had been dropped to 40mph at the time Mr Hussain was coming through.
He was driving at 61mph in a BMW.
The case was heard at Birmingham Magistrates' Court last Thursday (April 29), but Mr Hussain did not attend.
He was fined £440, disqualified from driving and hit with five points on his licence.
In total, the court ordered Mr Hussain to pay £579.
This includes the fine, a £44 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £95.
It all must be paid by May 27 this year.
