A FAST-FOOD giant is set to replace a KFC restaurant that closed after more than a decade of serving fried chicken in a popular Bradford suburb.
The long-standing Greengates branch, off Harrogate Road, at the busy crossroads, closed its doors for good on February 10 this year.
A spokesperson for KFC said the company had had "a good run" at the location but that "all good things must come to an end."
They added: “We’ll miss our loyal fans but never say never to a restaurant opening nearby in the future."
The staff working at the KFC were relocated to other locations and the nearest branches are now in Thornbury, Shipley or Holme Wood.
Speculation was rife on social media as to what might fill the place of KFC in the future.
There were rumours that Burger King was going to swoop in, but a banner that emerged outside the building this week has dispelled that.
The sign, which has been pinned on stone posts in the hedge to the right of the building, reveals a new Taco Bell will be opening there soon.
It will be just the third of its kind in West Yorkshire, with one currently situated in The Broadway Bradford and the other in the St John's Shopping Centre, in Leeds
There are 11 Taco Bells in total across Yorkshire and the Humber.
The banner outside the old KFC building in Greengates is advertising for people to apply for jobs at the new location.
The second half of the banner states "coming soon", with the company's logo and slogan, "Live Mas" (which means "Live More"), alongside it.
