A TEENAGER and man have died and woman is seriously injured after a crash in a stolen car.

The collision happened on the A64, near Tadcaster, at 11.50pm on Monday.

It involved a Vauxhall Insignia, which veered off the carriageway.

The driver and two passengers - all from West Yorkshire - were trapped.

The crash provoked a huge response from emergency services and the carriageway was closed while they dealt with the situation.

The front-seat passenger, a woman in her 20s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "The vehicle, a Vauxhall Insignia, was later reported stolen.
