I AM right behind the four-day boycott of social media by football clubs, players, atheletes and various sporting bodies. It will not end the online abuse, but it gets the message across. Even at my lowly level, derogatory comments directed at you by social media users are upsetting. The thing I hate most, though, is that these people rarely put their name to their criticisms. If you feel strongly about something, why use a pseudonym? It’s the not knowing who it is that is most unsettling - is it a former friend, your next-door neighbour? People should use their real names.
