A DRIVER "tried to bribe" a police officer after being pulled over in Bradford at the weekend.

The man allegedly asked the officer that "if he paid him £50 would you let me off", according to Section Officer Mohammed.

The silver Vauxhall Zafira was pulls over after being flagged up as uninsured, which is when the driver made his desperate plea.

SO Mohammed said in a series of tweets last night: "Working with SC 7960 around Bradford West and Bradford City all weekend.

"Yesterday we dealt with five logs. We also conducted proactive patrols, two vehicles were both seized for no insurance, and both drivers reported.

"The driver of the vehicle did ask SC 7960 if he paid him £50, then would he let him off?

"Unfortunately we had a better deal and his report for court summons will be with Royal Mail via the post in a few weeks time!"

A second vehicle, a blue Renault Megane, was also seized for having no insurance, and during his weekend's work SO Mohammed also reported two other drivers for not having a valid MOT certificate, and not wearing a seatbelt, as well as attending four emergency calls.
