THOUSANDS of pounds worth of damage was caused to a park after vandals damaged 15 newly planted trees.

Bradford Council is calling for people to come forward with information about the vandalism of the trees in Wibsey Park.

Over £3,400 of damage was caused to the saplings which had been planted last spring to create an attractive and shady central avenue in the park.

Bob Thorp, Senior Parks and Green Spaces Manager, said: “We do everything we can to make our parks and green spaces as pleasant as possible and recently the spaces have played a critical role in maintaining people’s wellbeing during the lockdowns.
