CAMPAIGNERS formed a jobs queue 'protest' outside Shipley MP Philip Davies's office on Saturday.
Group organiser Ludi Simpson said that data compiled by Green New Deal UK shows that Bradford is likely to suffer over 5,200 permanent job losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, losses which could be replaced with 7,300 jobs utilising green infrastructure and care work.
The group was protesting after Mr Davies did not sign an 'investment in green jobs' Early Day Motion in Parliament.
Mr Davies, who said EDMs were "pointless and meaningless", said: “Of course new jobs will be created by radical action to reduce carbon emissions – nobody denies that. However, jobs will also be lost and huge additional costs will be added to homeowners and businesses.”
