A man caught carrying a large knife down his trousers has been sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for 12 months.
Christopher Pope was reported to a police officer by a member of the public on Manningham Lane, Bradford, at 5.30am on January 15.
Pope, 32, of North Avenue, Manningham, pleaded guilty to having the knife in a public place.
Prosecutor Nicola Hoskins told Bradford Crown Court (pictured) today that he was “animated and intoxicated” before the “substantial” knife slid out from the bottom of his trousers.
Pope had previous convictions for assault, criminal damage and making a threat to kill.
The court heard that he had not threatened anyone with the weapon.
