AN IMAM has given a scolding talk after a stabbing in Bradford on Thursday night.

Imam Muhammad Asim Hussain spoke in a short video on Facebook page, Janaza Announcements, yesterday.

It was in response to a 19-year-old man - named locally as Mujahid Hussain from Undercliffe - dying after a stabbing in Duckworth Lane on Thursday evening.

West Yorkshire Police was called at 11.58pm to reports of an ongoing fight between a large group of males.

A number of cars were damaged in the disorder and shortly after midnight a man, aged 19, attended Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) with a single stab wound.

He died a short time later in hospital, triggering police to launch a murder investigation.

A police cordon was in place throughout Friday on Duckworth Lane, between its junction with Little Lane and Girlington Road and Duckworth Terrace and St Leonard's Road.

Forensic officers combed the street for evidence and later on Friday two males - aged 17 and 20 - were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Imam Muhammad Asim Hussain said: "You think you're Al Capone and Tony Montana, you think you're these fictional characters.

"You watch these Peaky Blinders and you think I'm Thomas Shelby now.

"You're a bum on the street, that's what you are, you're a coward.

"I'll tell you how to straighten beef out, you come to this Masjid, you sit me down, you sit elders of the community down and we'll straighten your beef out.

"You want to do it like men, come in front of me and do it like men.

"Sit in front of me and I'll straighten your beef out.

"When I put Allah and his Rasool in front of you, I will then like to see whether you will want to go and carry on wanting to murder next man, expose next man, do next man over, is this the way you do it?"
