TWO males, aged 17 and 20, have been arrested following last night's disorder in Duckworth Lane that led to a 19-year-old man being fatally stabbed.

The man and the boy have both been arrested for violent disorder and enquiries are ongoing into the incident.

A cordon is in place at the scene in Duckworth Lane and police said it will remain in place for most of today as officers continue to conduct their enquiries.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and any information related to the disorder at Duckworth Lane.

Bradford District Commander, Chief Superintendent Daniel Greenwood, said: “The local community is understandably concerned and very distressed by this incident, especially as it is happened during the Holy month of Ramadan.

“We recognise the concern this incident will have caused and we will be working with our partners and the affected communities to provide reassurance.

“We would urge anyone with any information to come forward to us to assist with the ongoing investigation.”

A 19-year-old, named locally as Mujahid Hussain, turned up at Bradford Royal Infirmary a short time after police were called to the scene in the early hours of today with a single knife wound, and died a short time later from the injury, triggering a murder investigation to get underway.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents speaking of their sadness and horror at the violent incident.
