A man has appeared before Bradford Crown Court charged with exposing himself on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal towpath.
Andre Esteves was on a video link to Leeds Prison where he is being held on remand.
He is accused of intentionally exposing his genitals intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress on the towpath on March 19.
Esteves, 29, of no fixed address, was not arraigned on the charge at the request of his barrister Kate Riekstina.
She told Judge Jonathan Rose there were issues of fitness to plead.
A psychiatric report is being ordered to look at Esteves’ mental health.
Meanwhile, a trial lasting two to three days was fixed to begin on August 31.
Esteves was assisted by a Portuguese interpreter for the short hearing.
Judge Rose told him he would have to stay in custody until his trial.
