GAVIN Williamson says the six English clubs involved in the proposed breakaway European Super League may face further government action if they do not reconsider their decision.
The Education Secretary added the proposal for Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool to join six other European clubs in a rival to the Champions League is wrong.
Speaking on today’s Good Morning Britain, Mr Williamson, who studied Social Sciences at the University of Bradford in the late 1990s, said: “We want these clubs to step back.

“It is a completely wrong approach they have taken.
“We all know that football is so much more than a business. They have a social responsibility.
“We are giving these six clubs the yellow card.
“It is time these six clubs listened and take a step back, but if that does not happen, the government will take further action.”
