I'VE always seen having a beer and a packet of crisps as a pub staple, but what about combining the two in a beer?

Seabrook have teamed up with Northern Monk to do just that, to brew the world’s first crisp-flavoured beers.

Bradford-based Seabrook’s Cheese & Onion and Prawn Cocktail flavours have been released.

The Cheese & Onion Lager is a 5.4 per cent lager, which carries a hint of cheese and onion, which tricks your tastebuds to think you've just had a packet of crisps.

The Prawn Cocktail Gose is a five per cent sour beer that brings that has a tang of prawn cocktail, finishing with a distinct saltiness with a gose style.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

But how did the two beers taste?

Before I tried both beers (after I'd finished work for the day, obviously) I wasn't quite sure what to expect as the idea of a crisp-flavoured beer certainly seems unusual.

But don't worry, the two crisp flavours aren't strong in the beers, they're not too overpowering.

Out of the two, I preferred the cheese and onion flavour as I'm a lager man, but the prawn cocktail drink wasn't too strong at all.

I was certainly intrigued to try them beforehand, just for the novelty factor.

Maybe they will do Salt & Vinegar or Beef flavoured beers next.

Here's my video verdict:

And before you get too angry in the comments section of this story, it's just a bit of fun.

Why not go and try these beers for yourself. Cheers!
