A GARGRAVE mother of two has patented an adhesive bra especially for larger-busted women up to and including a UK ‘K’ cup.

Amanda Smyth said she had spent the past seven years perfecting her creation, The Butterfly Adhesive Bra, which she has tested extensively; on one occasion for a full 12 hours.

The founder of All Women Limited said she discovered all adhesive bras on the market were aimed at the smaller sizes but made bigger in the hope they worked for bigger breasts like hers.

She said: There are a lot of manufacturers that are reproducing the same designed bras with the same design flaws, because no one has put any thought into what a large breast requires.

“When I wanted to wear a backless dress I tried a lot of adhesive bras. I got told they would work on my G cups, paid on average £30 per set and got let down each time.

“They literally worked for three seconds, then the weight of my breasts pulled the adhesive off. I thought I can’t be the only woman on the planet to suffer this fate.

“Adhesive bras in general are designed originally for women up to a UK D cup, they seem to work well on smaller sizes, I found. They are then remade by companies, copying the design and making it larger and marketing them as effective on women up to H cups. Some have even said J cups.”

Amanda set to work on her own adhesive bra range specifically aimed at the bigger size, allowing women to have freedom to wear whatever they want without having to hide big straps.

“I’ve always had slightly sagging breasts, being a G cup, mine are also heavy and require scaffolding,” she added.

Amanda fathomed out that instead of attempting to go against gravity and pull the breasts up, she would lift the breasts from below and use the chest area as a counterbalance.

“I first worked out where I would need the support and went from there,” she explained. “Once I had a sample, I went to an IP solicitor who put me onto a patent attorney to protect my design, then I got in touch with a company who manufactures adhesive bras and has done for over a decade. He said there is no adhesive bra like it anywhere.

“After a couple of alterations in the cup shapes and I finally have my finished product.”

Amanda wore her design for 12 hours doing shopping, housework and dancing in her living room to test its suitability in several different scenarios.

“The plan was to see if The Butterfly Adhesive Bra would last for a full wedding or function such as a prom. It did.

“I posted videos on my social media platform as the day progressed. I am so proud of it.

“It’s a big-breated women’s wardrobe must-have for 2021.”
