POLICE are appealing for help from the public to identify a person they want to speak to in relation to a shooting in March.

New imaged have been released of a person police want to speak to in connection with the incident, showing the same person on different days.

It is in connection with a shooting incident in Heathergrove Fold, Dalton, Huddersfield, on Monday, March 15.

Police were called to the street by a resident after a shooting incident in which property was damaged, but no one was harmed.

In the first image, from 10.08pm on Saturday, March 6, a person in a blue jacket can be seen walking towards the junction of Brown Royd Avenue and Coniston Avenue.

The other images are from 10.30pm on Monday, March 15.

Detective Inspector Sarah Burton of West Yorkshire Police's Firearms Prevent Team, said: “All firearms discharges in our communities are treated extremely seriously and a number of enquiries have been ongoing into this incident by our team and colleagues at Kirklees Police.

“We do appreciate that the person’s face is not visible in the stills but it is possible someone may have seen someone wearing similar clothing in the Dalton Fold area on these dates and times.

“I would ask anyone who can assist us but may not yet have come forward to get in touch either with the police, or anonymously to Crimestoppers.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Firearms Prevent Team on 101, referencing police log number 1900 of March 15, or by using the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.

Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
