NEW industrial units could be built in a car park on the edge of the city centre.

Bingley based Amissou Properties has submitted an application to build two industrial units off Caledonia Street.

If approved, the units would be constructed in the former car park of Virgo House - which used to be the base for Virgo Home Improvements.

That business shut in 2018, and the building is currently used as a gym.

The planning application is for a speculative development of two 100 square metre industrial units - and so the type of businesses that will occupy the buildings is not yet known.

Industrial units planned for vacant site in Listerhills area

It says: “This part of Bradford between Manchester road and Wakefield Road is mainly occupied by small industrial, warehouse or commercial units.

"The main building has subsequently been occupied by a different user and the car parking area at the Hall Lane end is no longer required.”

There would be five parking spaces retained in the car park for the new businesses.

A decision on the application is expected next month.
