BRADFORD has been well-behaved in the first days of pubs reopening, with zero arrests for drink-driving or public order offences.

Pubs, restaurants and non-essential shops reopened on Monday for the first time since the country was plunged into its third lockdown, due to Covid-19 cases increasing.

Drinking holes and food outlets up and down England were able to serve alcohol outside to customers on this historic day.

Thousands in Bradford took advantage of the sunny weather on the opening day and yesterday by flocking to pubs right across the city and its suburbs.

Some were even up bright an early on the Monday morning - when temperatures were a lot cooler - to get their first pint in months, at the Turls Green pub in Centenary Square.

Such levels of excitement might have caused some issues for police, but the force has said today this has not been the case.

West Yorkshire Police revealed that across Monday and Tuesday there had been no drink-drive arrests and no offences for public order which showed the location as a pub.

The Public Order Act 1986 covers a variety of offences, including: riot, violent disorder, affray, fear or provocation of violence and intentional harassment, alarm or distress.
