AN 18-YEAR-OLD has suffered life-changing injuries after being stabbed when walking past his attacker.

West Yorkshire Police was called by the ambulance service at 1.25am to Thorpe Lane, in Almondbury, Huddersfield, this morning.

A young man was being treated for a serious stab wound to his arm.

The male was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are non-life-threatening but life-changing.

Detectives investigating the serious assault discovered the victim had been stabbed at the bus turn around on Northgate, between 1am and 1.15am.

They believe the male was attacked by another person as he walked by him.

Police have now launched an appeal, as part of their investigation.

Detective Inspector James Bellhouse of Kirklees CID, said: “We are investigating this serious incident, which we do believe was isolated, and are appealing for witnesses and information. 

“The victim has suffered life changing injuries as a result of this serious attack and I would ask anyone who can help us locate the persons responsible to get in touch."
