SIR - All considerate people are rightly disgusted at the blight of fly tipping that plagues not only local areas but everywhere in this country. The disgust is equal to the frustration of the apparent inability to combat it.

Meanwhile, a further blight is consistent, dog fouling. However on favourite walks such as Baildon and Harden moors I have noticed the most inconsiderate, annoying and baffling aspect. In these beautiful, peaceful oasis, dog owners have not only allowed fouling but have gone to the trouble of putting it in a brightly coloured plastic bags, tying a knot and dropping it on the ground. Why?
