SHOPPERS have been queuing up outside Bradford’s shopping centres with one shop in particular proving popular.

People are returning to non-essential shopping from today, with Primark at the Kirkgate Centre being a particular draw. Around 250 people were spotted queuing outside the centre waiting for it to reopen at 8am today.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Two shoppers who came to Kirkgate early were mum and daughter, Zara, 45 and Hera, 29, who were just two of those ready to return to Primark.

Zara said: “It’s been three months and we’ve missed shopping at Primark, as they are one of those stores everyone misses.

“You can’t online shop with Primark.

“We’re both looking forward to having a look around.”

Zara added at end of the first lockdown, when Primark at the Kirkgate Centre reopened last summer, they were queuing up for an hour to get in the store.

She added that is why they decided to come early for the re-opening today.

One shopper has already been in and out of Primark at the Kirkgate Centre already.

Abdul (pictured), 19, from the Killinghall Road area of Bradford, says he was going in to Primark for the necesssities and came out with one of their famous brown paper bags.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

He said: "It was hectic but they were following the guidelines.

"Everyone had a mask on, everyone had to sanitise before they went in.

"It was nice after ages, it's nice seeing other people."
