SIR - The Jewish connection with the very sad death of HRH Prince Philip is that his mother literally saved a Jewish family in Greece during the war, for which she was inscribed in the Book of Righteous Gentiles in Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.
She is buried in Israel and Prince Philip visited her grave some years ago.
The Duke of Edinburgh, who came here as a refugee, had become as great an asset to this country as it is possible to be.
A letter of condolences from the Jewish community has been sent to HM The Queen.
