A POPULAR BBC drama series is set to film further scenes in the Bradford district.

Sets have been built at Salts Mill in Saltaire for the second series of BBC One’s Gentleman Jack.

The street scene which has been built at the Mill includes a pub, tailors and a chemist.

Bradford-born actor Timothy West is also among the cast for the series.

The award-winning drama, created by Sally Wainwright, which follows the life of 19th century landowner Anne Lister, has also been filming in Halifax and York.

Suranne Jones returns as Anne Lister in the BBC series, co-produced with HBO.

It is the second time the district has been used as a backdrop for this new series after scenes were filmed at Haworth Moor's Penistone Country Park in February.

Saltaire village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also regularly used as a setting for films and television programmes. These have included Netflix drama The English Games; Maxine Peake film Funny Cow, plus The ABC Murders, starring John Malkovich.

The Bradford district has also been used to shoot scenes for the second series of Channel 5’s remake of All Creatures Great and Small, which were filmed last month in Little Germany.
