THE sentencing of a man who assaulted a police officer and sexually assaulted a woman has been adjourned until a psychiatric report has been produced.
Asif Khan, 35, of Thorn Drive, Heaton, appeared on a video link to Bradford Crown Court on Friday.
He was due to be sentenced after previously pleading guilty to assaulting a police officer in Bradford on December 29 last year, sexually assaulting a woman by touching her bottom, and common assault on December 1.
He also admitted to 11 breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from attending A&E departments.
But Judge Jonathan Gibson adjourned the case untilMay 28, citing the need for a psychiatric report.
He said: “I order that the defence solicitors must commission the extra psychiatric report.”
Defence barrister, Jo Shepherd, explained Khan had expected to have seen a psychiatrist, but this had not been put in place,
She estimates a report will take six to eight weeks to bring together.
