AS CORONAVIRUS restrictions begin to ease, pubs, bars and restaurants across the country are looking forward to opening their doors again next week.

After a turbulent year for the industry amid the pandemic, outdoor hospitality can re-open from Monday, as part of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown.

There have been no changes to social contact rules as of yet, and outdoor gatherings must still be limited to six people or two households, but the new rules will give many something to look forward to.

Getting back to "some sense of normality" will be a "big deal" for pubs in the Bradford district, some have said, but some establishments will be staying shut until we reach step three of the roadmap - from 17 May - when indoor hospitality is expected to resume.

Below, you can see some pubs in the district which are expected to re-open on Monday and some which are not - and for those which are, what that re-opening may look like.

If you do not see your pub on the list, and want to let the public know about your plans, please email the details to newsdesk@telegraphandargus.co.uk, or send them to one of the Telegraph & Argus' social media channels.

  • Jacob's Well - Kent Street (off Hall Ings), Bradford, BD1 5RL

Bradford's oldest beer house, Jacob's Well, will be re-opening on Monday, with outdoor table service.

The pub said it is also planning to put out some picnic blankets, so that customers will be able to sit outside on the grass verges, while food will also be served.

A Jacob's Well spokesperson added: "We're very excited, we've been looking forward to this for a while.

"Getting back to normal will be a big deal. We can't wait for Monday, and we're also looking forward to hopefully re-opening indoors in May.

"We look forward to having people back as soon as we can, whether inside or outside."

  • Lord Clyde - 86 Thornton Rd, Bradford, BD1 2DG

Located just around the corner from City Park and the old Bradford Odeon, the Lord Clyde's doors will be "wide open" from Monday.

The pub has a new beer garden and is looking forward to giving out "great pints and great service."

It said: "Bring on the 12th! Our doors will be wide open with our new beer garden, ready to welcome you back to great pints and great service.

"As it is outdoor service only from the 12th, there will be no indoor seating allowed.

"We look forward to seeing you all again."

  • Marquis of Granby - 1 Hospital Road, Riddlesden, Keighley, BD20 5EP

This Riddlesden pub has built an outdoor barbecue area ahead of Monday's re-opening, and will have table service via an app.

It has also made its outdoor area bigger for its customers, after running a successful GoFundMe campaign.

  • Q Gardens - Stadium Mills, Stadium Road, Bradford, BD6 1BJ

Situated a stone's throw from Odsal Stadium, Q Gardens will re-open from noon on Monday.

It has increased its outdoor space for customers, including taking on the car park for extra room.

It is taking appointments now and all staff will be Covid tested before each of their shifts.

  • The Salt Cellar, Saltaire Road, Saltaire, BD18 3JF

This Saltaire pub will re-open from Monday, operating from 2pm to 11pm.

The pub says its "lovely beer garden" is now ready for customers to return, and bookings for weekend tables are being taken on 01274 955051, but are not essential.

The venue is "Covid-secure", it was added.

  • City Vaults - 33 Hustlergate, Bradford, BD1 1RE

This iconic city centre venue will not be re-opening on Monday, but is preparing for a return in May.

In a social media post, City Vaults said: "We know you're missing us, we miss you too! Unfortunately, we won't be opening in April so we'll be seeing you all in May.

"A little longer to wait, but definitely worth it in May with a pint in your hand and delicious food at your table."

  • The Sun Hotel - 124 Sunbridge Rd, Bradford, BD1 2ND

Similarly, The Sun will not be opening its doors again on Monday, and is waiting for next month to resume service.

It posted on social media: "As the exit plan remains on track, we are excited to hopefully see you in May!

"The Sun will reopen when we are permitted to allow people inside, which is currently due to be 17th May!"

  • The Bradford Arms - 77 Manningham Lane, Bradford, BD1 3BA

The Bradford Arms is another pub which is waiting for indoor hospitality to be allowed again before it welcomes people back.

It said: "Firstly, we’d like to again thank all our customers, old and new, for their continued support during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

"After careful consideration of the restrictions associated with outdoor opening on 12 April, we have reached the decision to delay our opening until 17 May, when we can welcome customers inside.

"We are now taking bookings from 17 May onwards.

"We will continue to update the page as we draw nearer to our opening date.

"In the meantime, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again soon."

  • Boy and Barrel - 60 Westgate, Bradford, BD1 2QR

Due to not having the outdoor space required for a 12 April re-opening, Westgate's Boy and Barrel is staying closed until May.

A spokesperson said: "We will not be re-opening on Monday, but we are re-opening on 17 May.

"From then, it will be table service only, and we will still be going by all coronavirus restrictions.

"We can't wait to re-open - it seems like a lifetime we've been shut, and we can't wait to get the doors open, have customers back and get back to some kind of normality."

  • Shoulder of Mutton - 28 Kirkgate, Bradford BD1 1QL

Located just around the corner from The Broadway, Shoulder of Mutton will not be re-opening on 12 April, and does not have an opening date in mind just yet, but will let customers know via social media when it does.

Again, if your pub or bar is not on the above list, please let us know your plans - email the Telegraph & Argus at newsdesk@telegraphandargus.co.uk, or contact us via social media.
