TWO drivers were reported by police for offences, one of which crashed in Bradford and one of which was transporting a mattress in Mirfield.
PC Claire Gray tweeted: "The lack of tread on this tyre might well have been a contributing factor as to why the vehicle ended up in some street furniture. Driver reported.....make sure you conduct regular checks on your tyres."
The West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit also reported a driver in Mirfield who was driving from Blackburn to pick up a mattress.
The tweet said: "One thing leads to another. Driver seen using his mobile phone. Vehicle examination identified a defective tyre. Reported to court for both offences. An expensive trip from Blackburn to pick up a mattress...you could say he was sprung!"
