A FORMER caravan sales site could soon become a used car dealership if a new planning application is approved.
Dickinson Caravans on Canal Road, between Shipley and Bradford, shut its doors last year.
Last week a planning application to turn the site into a used car dealership was submitted to Bradford Council.
The plans were submitted by D M Keith ltd - who own the adjacent Skoda dealership. The application adds: "We wish to extend the used car sales facility, as well as allowing more space for secure vehicle storage and valeting.
"The development use will be in keeping with the sites previous use, and with other businesses in the area."
Call to ‘go back to drawing board’ on road plan
The site will have 108 used car display spaces, 12 customer parking spaces and a temporary sales building and valet bay.
The expansion of the business into the site would create six full time jobs, according to the application.
It goes on to say that the front boundary wall of the site facing Canal Road will be demolished and re-built 2.5 metres back in preparation for a proposed road widening scheme for Canal Road.
A decision on the application is expected next month.
