Anyone for afternoon tea?

The weather is getting warmer  up and restrictions are gradually being eased which officially means afternoon tea season is upon us.

Now is the perfect time to feast on dainty sandwiches and delicious cakes.

Luckily, there are plenty of sellers right on our doorsteps in Bradford who are selling afternoon teas for collection or delivery.

With lockdown restrictions ending and people now allowed to meet up and socialize outdoors, you could even take these afternoon teas with you for a picnic.

Here are four Bradford businesses selling afternoon teas:

Tallulah’s Wine Bar, Bingley

Tallulah’s Wine Bar is more than just a bar with a 1920s aesthetic.

According to their website, their afternoon tea consists of: “Tiers of delicious finger sandwiches & savouries, homemade scones with jam & clotted cream, and mouth-watering cakes & desserts.”

Some items on the menu include sultana scones with clotted cream & jam, ham and cheddar sliders as well as chocolate brownies.

Dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for- but advanced notice is essential.

They are available for takeaway and are £15 per person.

Miss Butterfingers, The Green, Idle Village

You are guaranteed to get a great afternoon tea at Miss Butterfingers.

Today (2 April) they are selling Easter afternoon teas which consist of: a selection of dainty finger sandwiches, mini sausage rolls, crisps, scone, Easter nest chocolate brownie, crème eegg millionaire’s shortbread, vanilla cupcake, iced bunny biscuit and a hot drink sachet.

You get all of this for just £13.50 per person.

A  children’s afternoon tea is also available and includes: a sandwich of your choice, mini sausages or quavers, Easter egg nest, Rainbow Drops, Easter sweeties and an juice- all for £8.50.

They also sell non-seasonal afternoon teas which are £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for children.

Cake’ole, City Park

Afternoon teas at Cake’ole are available on weekends for pick up or delivery (delivery is free within a 10 mile radius).

Everything apart from the bread is handmade and the menu consists of: Sandwiches, scones (jam & cream), macaroons, s’mores, traybakes, cake.

Standard afternoon teas are £20pp and deluxe are £25 per person.

The Loft Café Bar, Main Street, Bingley

If you have never visited this café/ bar, now is your chance to sample their yummy sandwiches and sweet treats.

A spokesperson for the company said: “We make the quiche , scones , scotch eggs and cake ourselves.

“We also do a selection of sandwiches and usually trim them with fresh strawberries or grapes.”

The Loft Café Bar also offer vegetarian options.

Their afternoon teas are £25 for two people- which is an absolute steal.

Best of all, they offer free delivery if you live within a two mile radius.
